The Cox-Carlton Hotel was designed by the Pringle and Smith company (Robert Smith Pringle and Francis Palmer Smith) and opened in 1925. Pringle and Smith's other architectural contributions to Atlanta include the Rhodes-Haverty Building (1929), the William-Oliver Building (1930) and the W.W. Orr Building (1930). The hotel was extensively renovated and re-opened as Hotel Indigo around 2006 or so.
