Publication date: 03/08/52 BACK TO THE MAIN CLERMONT PAGE Fans of early rock and roll will already be familiar with Screamin' Jay Hawkins and his skull-on-a-stick gimmick. Though I don't know for sure, I don't believe that Hawkins had incorporated the skull into his act as early as 1952, so I have to wonder if Tiny Lou may have had an influence on his decision to begin appearing with Henry, the name he gave his cigarette-smoking (!) skull.
