I'm not quite sure what to make of Maxine Holman. All I can say with certainty is that her promo photo, which depicts her as a conjoined twin with a tuxedo-clad wolf, implies something awfully close to bestiality.
Her act must have been a success, as she returned to the Gypsy Room in 1953.
Below: A close up of burlesque dancer Maxine Holman in her dancer / wolf costume. It's just about impossible for me to see this photo and not think of the salacious tuxedo-clad wolf brought to life by animation director Tex Avery in the cartoon Red Hot Riding Hood, made in 1943 for the MGM studio (by bojan milic).
