Ponce de Leon Park, 1953.  Having no idea who this was when the picture was originally published here on the ATM, I asked if anybody could help ID the mystery batter seen below.  Reader John Carbo deduced the following.

"I believe that the unknown Yankee in your latest photo spread is infielder Andy Carey. It is certainly not any of the four right handed hitters that were in the regular lineup that year, Gil McDougal, Phil Rizzuto, Billy Martin or Hank Bauer, all of whom were unique looking individuals, to say the least. Nor is it Mickey Mantle, who was a switch hitter.

Carey is pretty clearly the infielder in the picture third row, far right, and I'm pretty sure it is the same guy in the right handed batters box.  Here's Carey's old baseball card for comparison:   http://tinyurl.com/dgkt3w
