Here's a fine photo that looks to the south along Peachtree Street in the heart of Midtown in the early 1970s from the top of Colony Square. Even if I managed to get myself to the top of Colony Square to try to get a duplicate photo, though, it probably wouldn't translate all that well as almost all those low-rise buildings in the foreground have vanished, replaced by towering office buildings and apartments that would essentially block much of the view. So I settled for taking a street level shot. The Texaco gas station sign that can be seen in the lower left corner of the vintage photo sat on the same property where the two white construction office trailers can be seen near the lower left corner of the September 2013 photo below.
