This 1964 photo, showing striking Eastern
Air Lines flight engineers, also shows the graceful and
spacious design of the ticket lobby. Visible
through the windows on the upper right is the
administration tower.

This 1965 view, taken from yet another postcard, shows the increasing dominance of jets in the aviation world. At this point, there were employee parking lots between much of the ticket lobby and the concourses. The terminal eventually was expanded to fill in those areas and the grassy areas behind the tower were later paved and used for parking. In the background, the white 1931 E.A.T. terminal is nearly obscured by the newer Southern Airways hangar, while the 1932 terminal has been demolished with the area turned into a parking lot. |
