Whisk 'A Go-Go ad. This was a franchised branch of the original Whiskey A Go-Go club on Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles. As for the reason behind the odd spelling of "whiskey" in the name of the Atlanta club, my guess is that it was a bid to keep civic leaders off their back. But that's just a guess. Date: 10/11/65 Ad for Atlanta's Whisk 'a Go-Go. This was a branch of the more famous Whiskey A Go Go club on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles. After debuting at 114 Ponce de Leon Ave, the club relocated to a space within the Imperial Hotel for a while. Click here to see an ad for when it was located within the Imperial. |
