This 1930s photo looks south
down Ivy Street (known as Peachtree Center Avenue today) from
its junction with Peachtree Street, which forks off to the
right. In the foreground on the right is the
still-standing First
United Methodist Church, completed in 1903. The
wedge-shaped building pointing toward the camera is the Frances
Hotel (1898 - 1988) which was a first-rate luxury
apartment building in its early years.
