Seen below is a 1978 picture taken in following the devastating fire that extensively damaged the Loew's Grand Theatre, formerly located at 157 Peachtree Street NE (Google map).

Also worth noting is the presence of the Zebra Club, a burlesque hot spot located within the Loew's Grand.   The Zebra Club started life a bit farther north on Peachtree Street, in the Howell House, just a block north of the Fox.  By the mid 1960s, it had relocated to the heart of downtown, taking up residence in the Grand.  Below are a couple more images showing the club itself and a few advertisements for shows taking place there.

Check out the Zebra Lounge's utterly fantastic design, complete with an image of a party-crazed zebra pounding the piano keys.  The exotically-striped jumbled lettering spelling out ZEBRA is also a very nice touch.  Image courtesy of the Atlanta History Center.
