Hurt Park fountain at night

Pictured on the postcard below is the Joel Hurt Memorial Fountain, lit up in the brilliant colors of the rainbow. In the background is the Hurt building. Hurt (1850 - 1926) was an Atlanta real estate owner and developer whose other business interests included insurance and streetcars. In 1886, he began developing Inman Park on a 130 acre plot just east of downtown. Named for his friend and colleague, Samuel M. Inman, Inman Park was considered to be Atlanta's first suburb.
