Toco Hill Shopping Center on North Druid Hills Road. Forty some years have made quite a difference at this sprawling DeKalb County shopping center. One factor that has made a huge visual impact is, obviously, the practice of sticking new buildings in the parking lot adding immeasurably to the visual clutter. Add a host of new trees (hey, all changes aren't necessarily bad!) and things look a great deal different. On a side note, I'm told by a lifelong Atlanta resident who usually knows what he's talking about that TOCO is an informal abbreviation for "top of the county." Date: April 1961
