This 1944 photo shows
storefronts along Boulevard Drive (now Hosea L. Williams Drive) in the heart
of the Kirkwood
business district. At the time, the neighborhood had a
pharmacy, a hardware store, a shoe store and
a cafe among other businesses. These days, there are
numerous spots to dine, but I don't think they have a
drugstore or a hardware store any longer, and probably not a
shoe store either, though I could be wrong.
