The Craft Shop, located at 5628
Memorial Drive, was a craft-oriented gift store that occupied
the same spot as a 1950s eatery called The
Plantation. According to the text on the back of
this postcard, which looks to be from the late 60s or early
70s if I had to guess, the long-gone shop, owned by Elsie
Carmines, stood where General Sherman once stabled his
horses. Google

A few feet away from the site of the former restaurant and craft shop at 5616 Memorial Drive is the Tupac Shakur statue, erected in 2005 to honor the slain rapper, who perished by gunfire in 1996.
