It's not overstating things in the least to say that the Clermont Hotel, located at 789 Ponce de Leon Avenue NE is an Atlanta institution, mostly because of the Clermont Lounge, the decidedly unglamorous strip club located in the hotel's basement.
The Clermont Hotel was completed in 1924 and initially served as an apartment building before being turned into a hotel in 1940. The 129 room structure was sold in 2003 and I'm not sure what changes, if any, the new owner plans to make.
