The Atlanta Cabana was the first hotel developed by Jay Sarno.  It opened in 1958 and was torn down in 2002.  In 1966 Sarno opened the Caesar's Palace casino hotel in Las Vegas.  Just after the Atlanta Cabana was razed Jon Buono, of DOCOMOMO, a group dedicated to documenting and conserving architecture of the modern movement, wrote for Creative Loafing a fine article eulogizing the recently-destroyed building.    Postcard date:   Mid 1960s        Google map
