Here's a fine 1971 photo
looking north from the 10th Street bridge over the Downtown
Connector (I-75 / 85). It's always amazing to check out
this stretch of highway and see a grassy median. And
check out that large wall along the right side of the
contemporary photo that's nowhere to be seen back in
'71. In slightly over forty years, the roadway expanded
from three lanes to a mind-boggling fourteen.
