This postcard features the historic Stone Mountain carillon console. A carillon is a set of fixed chromatically tuned bells sounded by hammers controlled from a keyboard. This one has been at Stone Mountain Park ever since 1964, when it was donated by Coca-Cola following its appearance at the New York World's Fair. The park still features live carillon concerts on Saturdays and Sundays. They also have shows on weekdays, but those are taped. Additional information can be found on the park's website.
