1405 Spring Street NW Date: 12/18/53 The National Museum of Patriotism, which opened at the corner of Spring and 18th Streets on the Fourth Of July in 2004, was started by Nick Snider. Snider, who served in the US Army before beginning a 33 year career at UPS, started the museum to promote the history of patriotism, to encourage people to examine what patriotism means to them, to educate students and to promote civic participation.
