Big thanks go out to Flickr user Sherwood Harrington, who allowed me to post these photos here. His mother grew up in Atlanta, where she met his father, stationed here in the military, during the latter years of World War II. The photos were all taken by Lynn Harrington, Sherwood's dad. Though Sherwood grew up in upstate New York, the family came to Atlanta with regularity to visit his mom's family. Click on any photo for a much larger version.
