McDonough Blvd. at Eric Street

This 1947 photo shows a house at the intersection of McDonough Boulevard and Eric Street, not too far from the Federal Prison. The years have not been kind to this neighborhood, nor to the house itself which is now abandoned. One of the neighborhood's longtime economic engines was General Motors' Fisher Body plant, located directly across the street from this house, which opened in 1928 and closed on August 6, 1990.
