Poor Pretty Eddie

Pictured below is Harbin "Red" Lawson....that's Coach Lawson to you. From 1951 until 1965, Lawson coached the Georgia Bulldogs basketball team through 14 consecutive losing seasons. His record of 112 wins and 241 losses (for a truly dismal winning percentage of 0.317) is the least impressive of any UGA basketball coach ever. It should be pointed out, however, that Lawson was not totally without redeeming qualities. He did a fine job in his portrayal of a revolting redneck travelling salesman.

I have to hand it to the writer of this ad....promoting the "locally filmed" angle and mentioning Coach Red Lawson's name at the top of the ad were probably pretty decent strategies in the effort to get a crowd to show up for the movie.
