This article (Red And Black, October 12, 1973) announced the news that the feature film Poor Pretty Eddie would be shooting in Athens and Lexington (18 miles east of Athens).
The actual cast for the film diverts slightly from the names announced in the article: neither Jack Palance nor Timothy Scott appeared in Poor Pretty Eddie.
Also interesting is the fact that the production was slated to film the the movie's opening scene, at a November 17 football game between the Auburn and Georgia. A close look at the scene, though, shows that it was actually filmed at Atlanta Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons. As the article indicates, much of the film was shot at a restaurant known as Charlie Williams Pinecrest Lodge, off Whitehall Road.
