| In an effort to bring some of that
magical "Peachtree" luster to the somewhat downscale
area south of Alabama Street, this section of Whitehall
Street was renamed Peachtree Street in the 1980's.
It was renamed Peachtree for the 10 or so blocks down to
Memorial Drive, after which it resumes its identity as
Whitehall Street.
