The statue visible in the foreground of the postcard is Samuel Spencer (1847 - 1906), founder of the Southern Railway.  The statue has been moved but remains in Atlanta and is now located in a small plaza on the north end of downtown, where Peachtree Street meets West Peachtree.  Scroll down for a photo.
