Sheraton Hotel - a view from the dining room

This postcard shows the view looking south toward Downtown from a restaurant within the Atlanta Sheraton hotel, which was originally known as the Stouffer's Atlanta Inn at 590 West Peachtree Street. It looks like it couldn't have been branded as a Stouffer's for too long as the Stouffer's Atlanta Inn opened in the fall of 1972 and this picture was likely taken in approximately 1976 or so, a guess which is based on the text on the back of the postcard (below) mentioning the "new" Peachtree Summit building, a structure that was completed in 1975. Here's a photo showing the exterior of the Stouffer's Atlanta Inn/Sheraton Hotel building. The building is now a Melia hotel.

Also below (courtesy of reader Don H.) is an article from September 1972 heralding the opening of the Stouffer's Atlanta Inn, which featured the pretty swanky amenity of actual swimming pools within some of the hotel's suites, according to the article. Google map
