Peachtree Street, looking north toward the v-shaped Candler Building, which serves as the only readily identifiable element that links the top photo to the bottom one. The stores were torn down to make room for Central City Park, which opened in 1973. In 1985, the park was renamed Woodruff Park in honor of Robert Woodruff, the formerly anonymous donor who donated the land to the city in the first place. Date: 1956 |
