The Davis-Fisher Sanitarium opened in 1908 at a location near the site of what is now Turner Field and three years later, in 1911, the hospital relocated to the building seen here, which is on Linden Avenue, between Peachtree Street and West Peachtree Street.  In 1931, its name was changed to Crawford Long Hospital to honor the Danielsville, Ga. native credited with being the first doctor to use anesthesia in an operation.  In recent years, the hospital changed its name once again to Emory-Crawford Long Hospital, before yet another renaming.  It's now known as Emory University Hospital Midtown, despite the fact that it's actually Downtown, not Midtown.     Google map
