This view looks north from the intersection of Marietta Street and Broad Street.

On the right is the former headquarters of C&S Bank at 35 Broad Street.  Built in 1901, the fourteen story tower was the first building in Atlanta to have a steel frame.  In 1991, C&S merged with the National Bank to form Nationsbank, which has its headquarters at the intersection of Peachtree Street and North Avenue in midtown.  (The Nationsbank building is the enormous skyscraper on the left side of the bottom photo on this page.)
